OMG!! See The Popular Doctor Who Allegedly Use Her Patients For Rituals

gear mobileSep 5, 2020

Instagram Investigative gist giver aka Gistlover accused cosmetic surgery doctor, Dr. Anu of Med contour – the one dragged for a botched surgery, for involving in rituals. The blogger had previously sworn to call out the doctor.

According to Gistlover, Dr. Anu, and Fifi, the moon have a herbalist whose shrine is at Ilasan close to Elagushi. She claims that apart from being an herbalist, ‘He dabbles in a loooooooot of dark craft on their behalf’.

Gistlover also claimed Dr. Anu, Fifi, and another lady named Constance (orisaronke) recruit other females in Lekki seeking riches. She said, Dr. ANu is a quack and that she extracts blood, hair, and other body fluids from her clients when they are unconscious for dark ritual purposes.

Read Gistlover’s full revelation here;

“Heloo Tueh Tueh, So Aanu doesn’t just have a policewoman backings, She and Fifi d moon have a Babalawo (herbalist) his name is Opemoluwa Kehinde Anipupo.

He is also the official herbalist of a popular monarch in Lagos (name withheld) His home and shrine is at ilasan very close to the egungun groove of ikate elegushi kingdom.

Asides from doing regular Ifa (herbalist) spiritual work for them. He dabbles in a loooooooot of dark craft on their behalf.

Fifi, Aanu, one Igbo girl, they call Constance (orisaronke) The three of them now recruit other females in lekki seeking riches or fame or just trying to sort out some life challenges. not only is Aanu a quack.

When people are laying unconscious on her table, she allegedly extracts blood, hair, and other body fluids for dark ritualistic purposes. And anipupo helps them do the dirty spiritual job. Their Babalawo. That’s his name.

When someone dies on Aanu’s table Anipupo is the one to make sure the case never succeeds. And not just that, don’t forget the patients are also being used for dark rituals, so they end up with energy drain, financial drain. Basically they become useless.

Except for people like that tee girl who has a strong and solid God behind them. So many of them cant fight. They just go away, with physical and/or spiritual deformities.https://www.youtube.com/embed/wybHaQIyqGM?autoplay=1&controls=1

When the first story of the beauty queen broke, it was because Fifi and Aanu were fighting then so she stepped aside and withdrew Anipupo from doing the usual.

Aanu had to go back to beg Fifi, then they killed the case their usual way. They all work in a ring, with Anipupi for their rituals. And they have different ways of fulfilling their pledge.

In February 2019, Dr. Anu was called out for the death of an ex-beauty queen Nneka who developed complications after a botched surgery. This year, popular social media user @omohtee took to twitter to tell the world about the surgery she had allegedly undergone with Dr. Anu and the complications she suffered from it.

Omohtee

Omohtee said she has been visiting the hospital but nothing was done by Dr. Anu as she kept assuring her she’ll be alright. She is still receiving treatment from another hospital due to the bad surgery.

Though Dr. Anu, who is allegedly a 2016 graduate of the College of Medicine, University of Lagos, came out to refute some of the previous accusations and those calling her incompetent, saying the patients don’t take to instructions after surgeries leading to complications and which the blame the doctor.

On the part of being a ritualist, she refuted the claim saying that is a blatant lie and not a possible thing to do as there are nurses and other people usually around during surgeries. Moreover, patients are usually awake during surgeries so, taking of blood or doing anything unprofessional is very impossible.

Why 1.4 million jobs created in August really isn’t great news

Brian SozziSeptember 4, 2020, 6:30 PM GMT+1  Ad: 8shttps://cdn-ssl.vidible.tv/dev/player/

Perhaps investors — and even the average American household — should have been rooting for a more downbeat August employment report.

Because the way things look now post jobs report, bumbling lawmakers in Washington, D.C., may be inclined to continue sitting on their hands when it comes to enacting a new (and badly needed) round of stimulus. And if that holds true, it puts the nascent U.S. economic recovery at risk right along with an overly inflated stock market.

“The way that these [stimulus] discussions have evolved, I think that is absolutely a risk,” Deutsche Bank chief U.S. economist Matthew Luzzetti told Yahoo Finance’s The First Trade on the likelihood that lawmakers drag out stimulus talks with the jobs market being on the mend. Luzzetti says not enacting more stimulus would be the wrong move.https://s.yimg.com/rq/darla/4-4-0/html/r-sf.html

“We have had a few better-than-expected jobs reports. The unemployment rate has fallen faster than expected. There is still a long way to go. Removing stimulus at this point still remains I think a significant risk to the outlook,” Luzzetti added.

The market appears to share Luzzetti’s concerns.

The August employment report wasn't all roses.
The August employment report wasn’t all roses.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average tanked more than 550 points at one point on Friday as investors were disappointed by a miss in the private payrolls component in the August employment report. Investors took it as an indication the U.S. economic recovery is losing steam as lawmakers have failed to sign off on a fresh round stimulus. Looked at another way, the market’s harsh reaction to the jobs data — especially in hot momentum tech stocks such as Apple (AAPL) and Tesla (TSLA) — underscore the urgent need for more stimulus, not less.

Red flags were littered about the jobs report even as president Trump cheered the numbers on Twitter (TWTR).

For instance, the number of permanent job losers spiked 534,000 in August to 3.4 million (up 2.1 million since February). About 5.2 million people not in the labor force in August were prevented from looking for work because of the pandemic.

Despite the ongoing recessionary conditions in the U.S., talks on the next stimulus plan remain at an impasse and present a key risk to markets in the lead-up to the presidential election. But hey, at least House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin agreed not to shut down the government in October.

“We have to ask about the implications of the jobs report though. I think there are no implications in terms of monetary stimulus given the Fed’s change in inflation targeting policy. But it could mean that Congress doesn’t feel a sense of urgency about getting more fiscal stimulus passed, and that could be a real negative,” said Invesco chief global markets strategist Kristina Hooper.

Hope at last for N-Power beneficiaries

SIR: Since the Minister of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development, Hajiya Sa’adiya Umar Farouq, announced the federal government’s decision to bsorb batches A and B of N-Power beneficiaries into the federal government’s ministries, departments, agencies, and parastatals, she has been getting kudos for the resolution. This move has definitely raised hope, ambition, and spirit of the affected beneficiaries. On a daily basis, we have been hearing recruitment exercises in various ministries and government agencies. Now, if the government can inject fresh hands into the so-called bloated federal bureaucracy, why not N-Power beneficiaries? Besides, they have spent almost three years receiving N30,000 as monthly stipends, without sufficient provision of transition programmes as promised by government.Regrettably, in as much as the nation’s wealth continues to give undue favours to elected officials, while leaving the majority to languish in abject poverty, I see no reason why the affected beneficiaries will not demand for either permanent employment or valuable package to establish their own businesses. Therefore, if the government officials take time to evaluate, or more so, determine the implications of their actions or inactions, they will hardly contemplate their disengagement from the initial stage. In view of the prevailing high unemployment and inflation rates; with most graduates desperately seeking to grab any available opportunity to get employed, to lay off those volunteers after they’ve been on monthly pay might pose serious threat to the nation’s well-being. I can bet to say there exist a hundred thousand graduates who have graduated after the engagement of batches A and B into the program, yet, they don’t have even a smidgen of hope of finding a job. Recent revelation about the huge number of N-Power applicants will reinforce this assertion.Whilst I commend those who have managed to start some business from the N30,000 monthly allowance, however, with no intention to cheapen the importance of the programme, I can wager to say, it would be very difficult to use that N30,000 to attend the place of work, and at the same time have something to start up any business.Although the exact details of the planned absorption are still sketchy, the minister’s press statement gives hope. It’s left to be seen when the process of absorbing them into the MDAs will commence. Sooner or later, we expected the Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Investment program to roll out procedures and arrangements for this absorption. This is because, when this information was given by the media aide of Sa’adiya Farouq, it was greeted with deluge of reactions from fear, despair, and uncertainty to sudden enthusiastic commendations and jubilations.Hajia Umar Farouq should ensure that their expression of genuine compliments to this gladdening news shouldn’t end with disappointment. No doubt, some beneficiaries have begun to despair of ever finding themselves being gainfully employed into the government agencies. But with the minister’s announcement, the exited N-Power beneficiaries received a beam light about their future. Abbas Datti,

Commentary: It’s time for ‘Republicans and Independents for Biden’

By Christine Todd Whitman, InsideSources.com on Sep 4, 2020

Published in Political Newsnull

I have been a Republican for more than 40 years. I served as a Republican governor in a largely Democratic state. I have donated money to Republican candidates, and I am supporting a number of Republican candidates for national office this cycle. But, I cannot support Donald Trump.

Addressing the Republican National Convention in 1964, Dwight D. Eisenhower opened his remarks to his fellow Republicans gathered in San Francisco by noting, “I am here this evening first of all as a citizen of the United States with primary allegiance to my country.” It is painfully evident that what was true for Eisenhower is not true for the current occupant of the Oval Office. This makes our duty in November all the more clear: we must defeat Donald Trump and elect Joe Biden.nullnull

The Republican National Convention was a glorified telethon constructed for the sole purpose of paying homage, and swearing fealty, to Trump. There was no party platform. There was no recognition of the contributions of past Republican giants and no appearances by any of the living former Republican presidents or vice presidents. In short, it was devoid of all recognition from previous quadrennial gatherings of my fellow Republicans.

Integrity. Duty. Freedom. Conservation. These are more than just words, they are clarion calls echoed throughout the decades by past Republican presidents in service of building a more perfect union. Whether it be Ronald Reagan’s “shining city on a hill” or George H.W. Bush’s “thousand points of light,” past Republican presidents marshaled our best character to overcome our world’s gravest challenges. The last four years have been the antithesis of these values for which we have fought.null

Fear, anger, division, self-aggrandizement and self-dealing. These are the traits that define a small man, at a big moment in our history. They also define Donald Trump. I believe he is not fit to serve a second term, nor fit to lead this nation. And I am fighting to defeat him in November.

That’s why today, I invite my fellow Republicans and right-leaning independents to join me and the nearly 100 other current and former Republican elected officials, members of previous Republican administrations, and party leaders in forming a coalition of the decent, to elect a decent man president of the United States.

Listening to the convention, one would think that Joe Biden is a left-wing radical, a socialist, a crime-loving, police-hating, faith-rejecting, job-destroying, China-loving senile old man who isn’t up to the job.null

The truth is that Donald Trump is the radical who wants to take away states’ rights by deploying unidentified federal agents to override local and state authorities.

He is the one who inflames hate, stokes division and celebrates violence to further his perverse political agenda. Only the latest example is his going to Kenosha, Wisconsin, against the advice and requests of the mayor and governor, as that city tries to heal.

He is the one who desecrates our reverence for places of worship by posing for photo-ops while striking down Americans expressing their rights as guaranteed by the Constitution and deploying federal troops to break up demonstrations.

He is the one who has destroyed millions of jobs and put millions of Americans on government payrolls. Today, in Donald Trump’s America, 30 million of our fellow citizens are without work.

He is the one who praises the autocratic leaders of China, Russia and seemingly everywhere else for nefarious purposes, most likely to further his own financial interests from which he has refused to divest. Not even mentioning a Russian bounty on our troops in any of his calls with Vladimir Putin.

Not only has Joe Biden done none of these things, I believe he has the right temperament and experience to restore the faith in our executive branch domestically and abroad, and restore our ability to serve as a respected nation on the global stage.

He has put forward a plan to save thousands of American lives by finally defeating an out-of-control pandemic.

He has put forward a plan to invest in American energy, infrastructure and technology to ensure we continue to remain the world’s center of innovation.null

He has committed to protecting our national security and restoring our credibility on the world stage by reaffirming American support for bedrock international alliances, like NATO.

He has rejected the violence taking hold in our cities, but also called for a long-overdue national reckoning on the disease of systemic racism and injustice that has pervaded our country for too long.

In short, Joe Biden wants to be a president for all Americans. He is the leader we need to restore honesty, integrity and a sense of duty to the Oval Office.

And so, our work begins. Republicans and Independents for Biden launches with an ad buy targeting suburban women who gave Donald Trump a chance, but who are considering a change.

There will be more to come. We will be tireless in our advocacy for Joe Biden, and relentless in our efforts to defeat Donald Trump.

To all my Republicans and independent friends out there who feel as I do but who have sat on the sidelines thus far, I encourage you to join us, and recall once more the words of Eisenhower in 1964:

“I believe with all my heart that the kind of party ours must be is one that rejects as unfit and unwholesome all who are purveyors of hatred and intolerance, who are prone to the use of violence, who malign the character of fellow Americans and who baselessly charge decent Americans with treasonable acts or intentions.”

The time is now. The cause is urgent. Join us.

She told her mother she was going to study, see what she was caught doing in the bushSep 3, 2020

She told her mother she was going to study, see what she was caught doing in the bush

A junior high school girl who was preparing for her BECE always leaves house every evening to study at the community library. Her mother was very worried about her daughter leaving every night but she couldn’t stop her because they had no lights at their apartment she can use to study.

They lived in an isolated village at country side so the only source of electricity there was solar system, but it was too expensive for them to acquire it. There was only one solar system installed in their community by the government and this was the one at the library.

Since this girl’s external exams were approaching, she will always spend the whole night away from home in the name of studies. Her mom tried convincing her to do all her studies in the day time anytime she closes from school but this girl said those hours won’t be enough.

So she kept doing her thing when one day her mother decided to follow up and see if her daughter was really studying as she said. She went to the community library around 10:00 pm in the night but she was not there. When she asked those who were there, they told her she had never come to study here.

Her mother explained she had always been coming here since the last two months. Every student there was simply surprised about what she said. One of her school teachers there even said she tried convincing her to join her colleagues at the library to study at night but she told him her parents won’t agree.

The mother almost broke down in tears. She was very disappointed in her daughter and scared at the same time. The mother went back home and didn’t tell anybody where she went to. Her daughter came and she pretended everything was alright. Then the next evening she followed her while she was again going to her ‘library’.

The mother kept her distance and the girl went right into some tick bush. She followed and where her daughter has always been going broke her heart. The mother saw her join a group of other young girls. Immediately she got to them, she threw her books carelessly on the ground and one of the girls gave her dress to change into. They complained why she was even late.

After she finished dressing, a well grown woman who seemed to be their leader assigned a number of them to each street in their town. They were practicing prostitution.

As soon as their leader finished assigning them, the girl’s mother appeared from behind the bushes. All the young girls were surprised and afraid she saw them doing what they were doing. But the grown woman tried to even rain insults on her. The mother went and pulled her daughter’s ear while she cries herself. She couldn’t do anything at that moment to save the situation than to report to the police.

The police traced and arrested the leader who was now trying to escape police arrest. The girls too were taken to the police station, but since they were teenagers, they called each of their parents the next morning to come for them.

This woman also went for her daughter with her head buried down in shame and embarrassment. This was how her daughter was going to repay her after all those years of naturing and training her.

BBNaija : I’ve Seen Erica And Kiddwaya Do Bad ‘Bad Stuff’ – Wathoni Sep 4, 2020Read original

Evicted Big Brother Naija season 5 housemate, Wathoni has revealed that she knew about Kiddwaya and Erica’s raunchy escapades while in the house.
It can be recalled that Erica had confirmed that she had sex with Kiddwaya while the pair were in the Head of House lounge.

Since the pair shared the Head of House lounge during the fourth week of the show, many fans have been speculating that they actually got down with each other during that time.

They spent the full week together after Erica won the Head of House challenge and choose Kiddwaya, her love interest, as her deputy.

Speaking about that period with Neo earlier today, Erica confirmed that the pair did ‘crazy things’ while further stating that they did everything possible.

If they show videos of all the things that happened in that Head of House lounge…even me I don’t want to watch it” Erica said laughing

Neo went on to ask the details of what they did, he asked ”Blowjob?” and Erica responded ”I did everything”

In an interview Wathoni sat for with Brighto, the mother of one revealed that she has also seen the couple do ‘bad stuff’ because her bed is beside Kiddwaya’s. Wathoni went on to state that she has always known that her issue with Erica is because of Kiddwaya, but she refused to admit that.

“The attraction was because he is a cute guy, he speaks well that’s it.

“I know about everything that has been going on. They’ve been doing bad stuff and I knew about it. Sometimes I see them.

“My bed is beside Kiddwaya’s. And I feel like her issues with me have always been because of Kiddwaya but she keeps denying it but it has always been Kiddwaya.”

Two LASTMA Officers Caught On Camera Fighting Passengers Over N100 In LagosSep 3, 2020

Two officials of the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA) were caught on camera fighting passengers in a vehicle going from Ikeja to Obalende.

The LASTMA officials with badge name E. A. Fagbuyi and N. Oladega accosted the bus driver at Toll Gate (7up) bus-stop, along Berger road in the Lagos metropolis. They accused him of boycotting them since last week and demanded money for the supposed ‘offense’.

The bus conductor says in the vehicle that they were seeking N100 bribe, and things took a different turn after Fagbuyi took charge of the vehicle and began heading to an unknown location.

It was gathered that after the passengers protested, the heated argument which ensued degenerated into a physical combat. During the fight, Mr Oladega assaulted one of the passengers identified as Sandra and also broke her phone screen.

The officials allegedly threatened to harm the lady for demanding that her phone be repaired. Sandra told the Premium Times reporter at the scene;

Quote

“I have been molested and I can’t take it. I was receiving when one of the officials came to drag my phone and threw it on the floor. He broke the screen already. These guys are thugs and should not be accommodated in Lagos.”

COVID-19: How third phase of eased lockdown will be implemented – OfficialSep 3, 2020

The national coordinator of the Presidential Task Force (PTF) on COVID-19, Sani Aliyu, has explained how the third phase of the gradual easing of lockdown will be implemented.

Mr Aliyu, while speaking at the bi-weekly briefing of the task force, on Thursday, said the new guidelines will be effective from Friday, September 4.

Nigeria imposed its first round of lockdown in March. Mr Buhari on April 27 announced the gradual easing of the five-week lockdown in FCT, Lagos and Ogun State.

The lockdown was eased to a nationwide night curfew (8 p.m. to 6 a.m.) from May 4 to May 17.

The curfew was later amended by many state governments to commence from 10:00 p.m.

The first phase of the relaxed lockdown was extended by two weeks and elapsed midnight June 1. The second phase which commenced on June 2 and elapsed on June 29 was extended by four weeks.

The additional four weeks elapsed midnight July 29 but was extended by one week due to the Sallah celebrations and elapsed midnight, August 6. It was further extended by four weeks and elapses midnight today, September 3.

The Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Boss Mustapha, had announced that the third phase of the gradual easing of the lockdown in the country will commence on September 4.

Mr Mustapha, who is also the chairman of the task force, said this phase will last for four weeks as approved by President Buhari.

Nationwide curfew

Mr Aliyu said the existing nationwide curfew of 10 p.m to 4 a.m imposed by President Buhari to further limit the spread of the COVID-19 virus has been reviewed.

He said the curfew would henceforth be from 12 midnight to 4 a.m. daily.

”We are modifying the curfew to commence from 12 midnight to 4 a.m. nationwide, effective from 12:00 tonight.

“This does not apply to people on essential services and international travellers that might be returning from abroad,” he said.

Mr Aliyu earlier said the purpose of the curfew is to limit social interactions and, therefore, reduce the risk of transmission of the virus.

Schools, restaurants, hotels

He said hotels will continue to remain open while observing necessary preventive measures.

“Amusement parks, gyms and cinemas can open but at half capacity. Event centres that provide outdoor service spaces can open but not indoors event centres.

“Eateries and restaurants can only open for outdoor services and we will make sure this is complied with.

“Bars and night clubs will remain closed till further notice,” he said.

International flights

He said the Nigerian international travel portal will be activated today, September 3.

“It is mandatory for persons coming into the country to have valid negative COVID PCR test results before boarding and this needs to be valid within 96 hours from accredited laboratories, preferably 72 hours before boarding,” he said.

NYSC

He said the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) is to consolidate on safety measures currently being put in place and start preparing for reopening of orientation camps when educational institutions reopen.

“We are in the process of developing a strict guideline to ensure that there is no outbreak of COVID-19 when orientation camps reopen,” he said.

FG gives approval for reopening of NYSC orientation campsSep 3, 2020Read original

The Nigerian government has given approval to the management of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) to start making preparations for the reopening of orientation camps nationwide.
The approval was given by the Presidential Taskforce on COVID-19 on Thursday, September 3, The Nation reported.

“For the National Youth Service Corps, the NYSC is to consolidate on safety measures currently being put in place and start preparing for the reopening of orientation camps when educational institutions open, he said.

“We are in the process of developing strict guidelines to ensure there is no outbreak of Covid-19 when this process starts.”

Confusion as petrol marketers fix price at N162 a litreSep 3, 2020Read original

• Marketers blame govt for chaos • Say govt still toying with subsidy
• Increase unacceptable, House minority caucus declares
• PDP describes the hike as callous, cruel, punishing
• SPN asks NLC, TUC to lead a protest
Barely two days after electricity tariff was increased by about 300 per cent, oil marketers yesterday fixed the pump price for Premium Motor Spirit (PMS), popularly called petrol, at N162 per litre. The marketers fixed the new price following the Federal government’s announcement that the product would now be sold to marketers at the depot price N151.56.

But no sooner had the government and marketers announced the new price regimes than a hail of attacks and criticism greeted them.

Among those that rejected or kicked against the hikes were the minority caucus of the House of Representatives, Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Socialist Party of Nigeria (SPN), and Advocacy for Integrity and Economic Development (AIED).

Marketers’ new price announcement came as Petroleum Products Pricing Regulatory Agency (PPPRA), the agency expected to modulate the price monthly, failed to announce the new retail price.

They claimed the absence of the PPPRA’s template created confusion coupled with the issuance of two conflicting statements by a subsidiary of the NNPC, Petroleum Products Marketing Company (PPMC). The two statements fixing two ex-depot prices: N147.67 and N151.56.

The PPMC, in the first statement dated September 2, 2020, with reference number PPMC/IB/LS/020, notified stakeholders that the price had increased to N151.56 per litre.

The same agency, in the second statement, with reference number PPMC/MOD/SALES/346, put ex-depot price at N147.67 for petrol.

With an ex-depot price of N151.56, some marketers noted that additional charges for distribution margin, transporter allowance, retailer margin, bridging fund, marine transport as well as administration charges would push the retail price up to an average of N162 per litre, based on market fundamentals.

As of the time of filing this report, the Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria (IPMAN) was uncertain of the price as the association’s Vice President, Abubakar Shettima, told The Guardian the situation was being weighed.

The Southwest Zonal Chairman of IPMAN, Dele Tajudeen, however, told The Guardian the association had directed its members to dispense the product at N162 per litre.

Tajudeen alleged that the NNPC had been selling to their retail outlets at different prices, bringing disparity in the system, especially for other marketers.

“This pits us against the masses. Government has been insensitive to people’s plight”, he said.

REACTING to the hike, the minority caucus in the House of Representatives, in a statement by its leader, Ndidu Elumelu, described price increase as unacceptable.

The caucus said the hike would worsen high cost of consumer goods and services and economic hardship suffered by Nigerians.

Elumelu said: “The minority caucus in the House of Representatives rejects the announced increase in the pump price of fuel.

“This is because such increase will directly result in more hardship on our citizens, particularly at this critical time when the majority of Nigerians, across the country, are struggling to survive under the burden of the high cost of living and low purchasing power occasioned by the prevailing economic challenges.’’

The caucus asked PPMC to revert to former price.

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) described the increase as callous, cruel and punishing.

The party called on the National Assembly to caution the APC Federal Government and prevent it from plunging the nation into chaos.

The party demanded reversal of the prices to avert national crisis, stating that the increase “will result in upsurge in costs of goods and services and worsen the biting hardship faced by Nigerians, who are already impoverished and grappling with high cost of living in the last five years.”

In a statement by its National Publicity Secretary, Kola Ologbondiyan, the party said increasing fuel price from N87 per litre to N151 and hiking electricity tariff from N30.23 per kwh to over N66, had left no one in doubt that APC’s agenda was to inflict pain and hardship on Nigerians to satisfy their selfish interests.

The party challenged the APC and the Buhari administration to publish parameters with which they arrived at the increase of fuel price, arguing that with the prevailing values in the international market, the appropriate price template for domestic pump price in Nigeria ought not to be above N100 per litre

SIMILARLY, Socialist Party of Nigeria (SPN) condemned the price increase.

The party, in a statement signed by its acting National Chairman, Abiodun Bamigboye, and National Secretary, Chinedu Bosah, described the increment as one too many. It called on the Nigerian Labour Congress (NLC) and the Trade Union Congress (TUC), not to only issue statements but to mobilise to fight back.

It said, “SPN strongly condemns this increase and demands its immediate and unconditional reversal to pre-May 2020 price. But condemnation in words alone will not be enough, especially for an obdurately anti-poor capitalist regime which has made it clear to everyone it is desperate at offloading economic catastrophe on the heads of working class and poor Nigerians.

“We, therefore, call on the Nigerian Labour Congress (NLC) and the Trade Union Congress (TUC) not to simply issue statements as it has been doing for months now, condemning in strong terms one anti-poor government policies or another without taking any serious action to mobilise to fight back, thus effectively allowing the capitalist ruling elite to condemn the masses to suffer in silence while disarming the advanced layers of the working class and youths who are rearing to fight back but need bold and militant leadership.”

Advocacy for Integrity and Economic Development (AIED) described the hike as “draconian anti-masses policy by a heartless administration.”

In a statement on Wednesday by its Director of Media and Publicity, O’Seun John, the organisation urged the Federal Government to revert to old price and tariff.

The statement read, “We received with shock the report of yet another increase in the price of petrol at the depot just two months after it was hiked.’’

A Professor of Economics, at the Babcock University, Segun Ajibola, noted that hiking prices of essential products such as electricity and petrol would worsen the standard of living and increase poverty level.

Idayat Hassan, who is the Director of the Centre for Democracy and Development (CDD), noted that the hike would undermine efforts to reduce cases of COVID-19, saying the masses would be forced to look for means of survival in the absence of palliatives from the government.

“Income has not increased but prices of basic amenities are going up at a time when people are losing jobs. It shows our government is not thinking,” she stated.

DID YOU KNOW? There Is An Igbo Tribe In Equatorial Guinea And They Are The Third Largestruch blingSep 2, 2020Read original

Equatorial Guinea is located at the Eastern end of the Gulf of Guinea, West coast of Africa, the only African Country situated in the middle of the ocean, outside African map separated by water, the only Spanish speaking.

Among the tribes in this country are the Bubi, Fang and the Igbo people (who also inhabit South Eastern Nigeria, off the Bight of Biafra) among other tribes.

The Igbo, as officially declared by the government of Equatorial Guinea, is the third-largest tribe after Fang and Bubi tribes, and occupies a small area in Bioko.

Their communities are small compared to Bubi and Fang. Majority of them migrated to Bioko from Arochukwu, Abia State, Nigeria.

The Igbo of Equatorial Guinea, numbering 33,500, are no longer unreachable. They are part of the Igbo people cluster within the Sub-Saharan African affinity bloc, this group, though a minority of people ranking third-largest in Equatorial Guinea, a country with a total population of 1.2Million people. Their primary language is Igbo. The primary religion practised by the Igbo is marginal Christianity, a form of religion with roots in Christianity but not theologically Christian”.

BIOKO (Formally Fernando Po)

Formerly known as Fernando Po, Bioko is the largest region in Equatorial Guinea, the inhabitants speak Pidgin English, Spanish foreign language, Fang, Igbo and Bubi indigenous languages.

The original inhabitants of Bioko are a group of people called Bubi, descendants of mainland Bantu tribes who fought and defeated the Fang and pushed them to inland part while they occupy the coastal areas. The Fang is also an ethnic group in Cameroon.

Bioko also is home to descendants of former slaves who were freed in the nineteenth century. Many Bubis have recently immigrated to the continent, and along with other, smaller Bantu-speaking tribes, comprise the remaining 10 per cent of the population in Rio Muni. Minority tribes include the Kombe, Balengue and Bujebas.

Most people in this region speak in their tribal languages, either Fang, Bubi, or Ibo, all of which are in the Bantu family of languages.

National Identity

Equatorial Guineans identify first with their tribe or ethnic group and secondly with the nation.

The current country was formed during Spanish rule, linking the main island of Bioko with the mainland territory, despite the fact that the two were culturally distinct.

Since the unification of the two, there has been some intermingling and migration, particularly of mainland Fang to Bubi-inhabited Bioko.

The Fang tribe itself is not limited to the Rio Muni area but extends also north into Cameroon and south into Gabon.

Ethnic Relations

Legally, there is no discrimination against ethnic or racial minorities, but in practice, this is not the case. The Bubi have experienced persecution under the post-independence government.

Prior to independence, the group formed a majority on Bioko. However, since 1968, many Fang migrated to the island and a small subclan, the Mongomo, has dominated the government.

There are resentment and violence not only between the Bubi and the Fang but also between the Mongomo and other Fang subgroups.

Independence of Bioko

The Bubi, a warlike tribe, are leading the independence struggle, a proposed country that includes the Igbo minority and Fang, though there is no record of any opposition to the demands for the Republic of Bioko by Fang and the Igbo.

As regards the language, Igbo is a recognized official language in Equatorial Guinea and it has been confirmed that the people still speak the Igbo language which has some form of deviation from the modern Igbo spoken in Nigeria.

Some people who have seen them say they say, ‘bia ikaa’ for ‘come here’.

Finally, I think that the Igbos of Nigeria need to reach out to our people in Bioko to re-strengthen our ties and the language.

The Federal Government says state governments and school administrators should start making preparations for the full reopening of schools in the country.

The PUNCH had earlier reported that schools in the country had been shut in March as part of measures to curb the spread of the coronavirus disease.

However, the Federal Government announced the resumption of graduating pupils effective August 4, 2020, to write this year’s West African Senior School Certificate Examination from August 17, 2020, through September 12, 2020.

But speaking on Thursday, the National Coordinator of the Presidential Taskforce on COVID-19, Dr Sani Aliyu, during a briefing at the Nnamdi Azikwe International Airport, Abuja, said the task force recommends phased return of students.

Aliyu said, “For educational institutions which include daycare, primary, secondary and tertiary institutions. Educational institutions should begin the process of working towards potentially reopening within this phase.

“However, we strongly recommend that states conduct risk assessment to ensure all schools are at a level of compliance and create a monitoring mechanism to assess, create, and monitor this level of preparedness.

“Meanwhile, all daycares and educational institutions are to remain closed to in-classes until this level of risk is assessed. And if there will be opening of schools, it must be staged and preferably carried out in phases to ensure that this does not pose a risk to the general public and in particular to vulnerable groups that might end up getting infected by students going back home.”
